August 2024. The Olympic Games are in full swing and Paris is more chaotic than usual. Blandine has just arrived from peaceful Normandy to attend the swimming competitions and reunite with a half-sister she hasn’t seen in years. But things don’t go according to plan.

The wonderfully relatable Blandine is an astonishing presence. Wherever she interacts with one of these Parisian busy-bees, her gentleness and awkwardness underline, often much to her amazement and dismay, how the business-as-usual normality around her isn't quite right at all.

Actor Blandine Madec had already inspired director Valentine Cadic’s short film work, and here they are, fragile only in appearance and tackling the crowds of real-life flag-waving sports fans for a debut feature through which the viewer keeps catching themselves smiling. Suddenly, a burst of laughter escapes you. Was this the funniest film scene you've scene all year?

The film delivers its rewards in ways so unexpected, no trailer could do it justice: emotions so true and subtly expressed, a warmth overcomes you.

Presented in association with the French Embassy in Ireland and Alliance Française de Cork.
