On the night of Yalda, the Iranian winter solstice festival, Maryam, a young woman sentenced to death for the murder of her husband, is due to appear on a reality TV show to plead with her husband’s family for forgiveness and her life. Between Maryam's nervousness and the reconstruction clips, there soon emerge revelations which call into question many of the case facts. Massoud Bakhshi’s pacy melodrama won a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance, and will keep you enthralled until the very end.
