Ticket Price €10/€7.50&nbsp;(unwaged) Friends of the Earth and Cork International Film Festival present a Special Event Screening of&nbsp;Groundswell,&nbsp;Johnny Gogan's feature documentary on Ireland and Fracking. Filmed in the Irish border counties and in Pennsylvania, the film details the plans of oil and gas company&nbsp;Tamboran to establish a major gas field in the border counties of Leitrim and Fermanagh in 2011. The film follows the establishment of a broad-based campaign in these counties which spread nationally and internationally, leading to the passing of a seminal law in the Dáil banning fracking in 2017. With over forty contributions from participants on both sides of the Atlantic including actor Mark Ruffalo, Sandra Steingraber, Eddie Mitchell, Dianne Little and Nuala McNulty,&nbsp;Groundswell&nbsp;is a very affirmative story about the power of community and creativity, but also about the persistence of the oil and gas industry beyond Peak Oil. The environment knows no borders and a threat in one area affects us all.&nbsp;With plans to build major gas storage and re-distribution facilities in Shannon and Cork harbours&nbsp;and Island Magee,&nbsp;Tamboran once again applying to extract gas in Fermanagh,&nbsp;and EHA’s petroleum licence application which covers 5 council areas in NI,&nbsp;a post screening discussion with filmmaker Johnny Gogan and guests will address the current situation in relation to fracking and&nbsp;the island of&nbsp;Ireland.&nbsp;Presented by Friends of the Earth Ireland, Friends of the Earth N.
