As part of the fifth Night of Ideas in Ireland, the Cork International Film Festival, in partnership with the Embassy of France in Ireland, is delighted to present the Irish Premiere of Emilie Carpentier's debut feature, 'The Horizon'.
After the film, CIFF will host a live online conversation about the use of film and the arts to highlight environmental and climate issues, as well as discussing the speakers' actions and experiences.
Joining CIFF Programme Manager Si Edwards will be:
- Laragh McCann, photographer and filmmaker who founded the not-for-profit Climate Love Ireland and was awarded by An Taisce for her endeavours.
- Shaun O'Connor, an award-winning filmmaker, writer, and photographer whose recent film A White Horse was long-listed for the Academy Awards® 2021.
- Dr. Maria Kirrane, Sustainability Officer for University College Cork and who holds a BSc. in Environmental Science and a PhD in Ecology.
